5 Life Lessons We’ve Learned From Ghost St-Patrick In Power
The Ghost Mode!
Ghost St-Patrick Is More Than A Fictional Character, He’s Your Modern Sensei!
Ghost St-Patrick is the gun-totting-evil-mastermind-Machiavelli-look-a-like life coach you always wished to get (even if you didn’t know it yet)
For those who lived under a rock for the past 2-3 years, Ghost St-Patrick is the main character of Power. The show is executive produced by 50 Cent and its the most popular drama/gangster TV show on earth at the moment.
“See, Short Term Thinking Creates Short Term Results”
The show evolves around Mr. St-Patrick’s desire to escape the drug trade by investing his dirty money in the nightlife industry to turn his life around.
On top of that, Ghost is also in love with his high school sweetheart who happens to be a lawyer for the prosecutor’s office (tricky right?!). Somehow someway, he finds himself in crazy situations that require him to be strategic and often leave a trail of dead bodies behind him.
The show beautifully shows the thin line between business and crime, friendship and betrayal and also power and downfalls.
Today we will overview 5 life lessons that Ghost St-Patrick taught us during the show (no his sex game is not a “life goal” fellas)
#1 Never Give People An Open Access To Your Life Or Your Business
When you call yourself Ghost there are a lot of things that come with that! Indeed James St-Patrick mastered the art of concealing his intentions and keeping people away from his business.
A part of it may comes from the fact that he needs to keep his family safe but on another note it’s all about being on top of your business.
When people can’t figure you out, figure out what you got going on or what’s your next move, you ALWAYS have the upper hedge.
When you deal with your girlfriend who’s working hand in hand with the FBI, a partner moving kilos like Pablo Emilio Escobar & running the biggest nightclub in your city; you have to draw lines between all those things (and stay alive in the process).
#2 Stay Calm In Time Of Crisis & Plan Your Next Move
Ghost St-Patrick gets caught up in all sorts of bad situations like recently going to jail, dealing with his best friend trying to kill him and seeing his son turn into a “mini Ghost” in front of his very own eyes.
One thing we all have to admire about Ghost is his ability to keep his cool when things get heated (he’s like the New York gangster version of Neo at times).
A lot of times we believe that problems require an immediate response. By doing this we often make it worse than it initially was.
I mean James is able to face life and death situations with a “IDGAF” attitude and still manage to move his pawns better than the rest which also contributes to the epic season finales we’re all craving for. Keeping your cool when the going gets rough is a true sign of power (never mind the wordplay just bare with me) .
#3 Make Sure You Have Multiple Sources Of Income
This one was quite obvious but don’t take it to the extreme (for all my potential kingpins out there). At this point it’s just simple mathematics, the more stream of revenues you have, the more you can become a wealthy person.
If drug trafficking is not your forte try to find a passive income system or build something from scratch. No matter what you choose, you have to make sure it runs on its own and to pick something that allows you to still sleep at night.
#4 Get Yourself A Tommy
Tommy & Ghost had their fair share of ups and downs but they kept their brotherhood intact through it all.
Tommy may look like the total opposite of Ghost at times but that’s what keeps a balance in their partnership. You have to know your strengths and weaknesses and surround yourself with people that can fill those voids when it’s necessary.
Tommy is the man of action when things get complicated and Ghost is the mastermind that sets everything up.
Through whatever you’re trying to do, you have to build a team that can bring valuable assets to your ideas if not you’re completely wasting yours and their time.
#5 Family Comes First
Ghost St-Patrick is often perceived as selfish because he gave up his marriage to get his high school sweetheart (which is something I still can’t understand too well).
Regardless of how many hand in hand moments or hard-core sex scenes he has with Angela Valdes, Ghost thinks first and foremost about his kids.
Mr. St-Patrick has a lot on his plate but keeping his family safe financially and alive is what drives him (and also activates his killer instinct) .
No matter what goal, career or ambition you have in life, you will always achieve great things when you keep your family as a focal point.
What Do You Think?
I know I sound bias but between me and you, Power is one of my TV highlights of the past 5 years. What do you think about Ghost St-Patrick and the season 4 of the show (spoilers are welcomed for once)?
